Family Easter events in Green Bluff area

MEAD – The Green Bluff United Community Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, and the Green Bluff Grange No. 300, 9809 Green Bluff Road, will hold their annual family Easter event Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.

An egg hunt will start at noon at the Green Bluff Church. After all of the eggs have been found, hunters are invited to a free lunch at the Grange. Crafts, a raffle for an Easter basket and other activities will also be part of the Easter fun.

The Easter Bunny will visit.

Easter Bunny to be breakfast guest

FIVE MILE – The Five Mile Prairie Grange, 3024 W. Strong Road, will have its annual Pancakes with the Easter Bunny from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Attendees are welcome to bring cameras for photo opportunities.

Donations for the breakfast are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the Grange and support improvements to the interior of the hall, including updated bathrooms and new front and rear entryways.

Drum group set to perform next week

HILLYARD – The Drum Brothers, a four-member world percussion group, will perform April 12 at the Hillyard Center, 4410 N. Market St., at 9:30 a.m. and at the Institute for Extended Learning Lodge, 3305 W. Fort George Wright Drive, at 2 p.m.

The group performs a mix of ethnic and contemporary world sounds.

The performances are free and open to the public and are co-sponsored by the IEL Associated Student Governments at Colville, Newport, Inchelium and Republic centers, and IEL student activities and diversity programs.

Join park cleanup effort April 21

CHENEY – The Cheney Clean Sweep is in need of volunteers to help clean up Veterans’ Memorial Park, 612 Fourth St., from 9 a.m. to noon April 21. Check-in is at 8:30.

Lunch will be provided to community members who help clean up the park on the annual “Brooms Day,” along with free reusable tote bags in appreciation of their service.

Spaghetti feed will help wildlife refuge

CHENEY – The board of the Friends of Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge will host a spaghetti feed at the United Church of Christ, 423 N. Sixth St., on April 22, from 1:30 to 4 p.m., to raise funds for the refuge.

The Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge has been a center for on-site environmental education for more than 25 years and has been able to increase environmental awareness within Spokane. The refuge offers programs for all ages of students.
