Went to Heaven on April 14, 2012 at Holy Family Hospital with his wife, Virla, and stepson, Tim Hatton, at his side.

Irvin was born in Dickinson, ND on August 26, 1927.

He was the son of Fred and Emelia Steffen of ND.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virla Richards Steffen; daughter, Illabelle (husband George) Orvalla of Ukiah, CA, five sisters, two brothers in ND, MT and IN, six stepchildren and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister and son, Kevin at age 2Ă‚Ë?.

Visitation for Irvin will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, at the HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N. MONROE, AND SPOKANE, WA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home.

Irvin will be laid to rest in Killdeer, North Dakota cemetery.
