Education Notes: Car show, competition benefit Palisades Academy
Palisades Christian Academy, 1115 N. Government Way, will have its third annual “Summertime Show and Shine” school fundraiser on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The benefit will feature hot rods, custom and classic cars and tricked-out pickup trucks. Food will be available.
Trophies will be awarded to cars in each class. Cost is $15 to register cars. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and cars will be parked at noon.
Categories include pickups, pre-1950 modified, pre-1950 originals, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and up modified and ’80s and up stock.
All proceeds benefit Palisades Christian Academy and Channel 39 Christian Television.

Students in the Tekoa School District in Tekoa, Wash., getting ready for school need to begin today, by registering for the upcoming school year. All students, new and returning, in preschool through grade 12 must register. The district office, 200 S.
