Panthers gain control late, beat Coeur d’Alene

Jade Redmond scored 18 points and dished out nine assists as Mead pulled away in the fourth and stayed undefeated on the season with a 60-45 nonleague basketball win over Coeur d’Alene Saturday at Mead.

Ashlyn Lewey chipped in 16 points and Delany Junkermier added 14 – including eight in the fourth quarter. Mead outscored the Vikings 14-4 in the fourth to put the game away.

Kendalyn Brainard and Caelyn Orlandi scored 11 points apiece for Coeur d’Alene, which fell to 6-2. Mead improved to 4-0.

Ferris 46, Richland 41: Brittney Johnson made 4 of 6 3s and finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four steals as the Saxons (3-1) edged the visiting Bombers. Abby Liss added nine points, including five free throws in the final minute, for Ferris.

Lake City 39, Hanford 37: Madi Farrell scored 13 points and Natalie Wheelock added 12 as the Timberwolves (5-4) edged the visiting Falcons. Lake City outscored Hanford 23-12 in the second half.

Sandpoint 52, Pasco 21: Madi Schoening made 6 of 11 shots and finished with 19 points to lead Sandpoint (5-4) past Pasco at the Pendleton Classic. Sandpoint trailed by four points after the first quarter, but outscored Pasco 22-2 in the second to take a 16-point halftime lead. Nikole Amarillo added 11 points for Sandpoint.

Post Falls 56, Chiawana 43: Hallie Gennett scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Trojans (8-0) topped host Chiawana. Post Falls outscored Chiawana 17-8 in the second quarter to erase a four-point first-quarter deficit. Brooke Litalien scored 13 and Dani Sailor added 11 points and 13 boards for the Trojans.

Priest River 48, Deer Park 17: Anna Pavey scored nine points and the Spartans (4-4) locked down defensively and beat the host Stags (0-5). Priest River outscored Deer Park 10-2 in the first quarter and led by 15 points at halftime.

St. George’s 43, Wellpinit 34: Taryn Stamper scored 12 points and Alex West added 11 as the Dragons (1-4) beat the host Redskins (0-3). Dani Flett hit three 3s and finished with a team-high 13 points for Wellpinit.

Lakeside (ID) 57, Timberline 41: Kim Duncan-Hall had 11 points and six steals and Sydney Wakan added 11 points, six rebounds and four steals as the Knights (5-1) beat Timberline in Plummer. Francine Hendrickx added 10 points, six assists and three steals for Lakeside, which pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring Timberline 19-7.

Okanogan 54, Colville 43: The Bulldogs built a commanding lead through three quarters and went on to beat the host Indians (0-3). Jessi Wittmeyer scored a game-high 16 points for Colville.

Northwest Christian 49, Chewelah 25: Chanel Knight and Hannah Dietzen scored 11 points apiece as the Crusaders (4-0) beat the host Cougars (2-1). Northwest Christian outscored Chewelah 15-6 in the second quarter and led by 13 points at the half.

Colfax 40, Lakeside (WA) 35: Tayler Larsen scored 11 points as the Bulldogs (5-0) rallied in the fourth and edged the visiting Eagles (2-1). Amara Huber added nine points and Nicole Sheer pulled down eight rebounds for Colfax. Jocelyn Cook-Cox had seven points for Lakeside. Bonners Ferry 49, Newport 40: Jasmine Hill scored 12 points and Kendra Merritt added 10 as the Badgers (4-0) pulled away in the third quarter and beat the host Grizzlies (2-1). Bonners Ferry outscored Newport 13-3 in the fourth to take a 12-point lead into the fourth. Courtney Wiese and Holly Malsbury scored 11 points apiece for the Grizzlies.

Kettle Falls 66, Tonasket 24: Kourtney Keenan scored 13 points and Randi Goodnight and Josie Stanard added 11 apiece as the Bulldogs (3-2) pulled away in the second half and routed the visiting Tigers. Kettle Falls outscored Tonasket 33-9 in the second half.

Wilbur-Creston 64, Waterville 25: Jessica Boyer scored 12 points and Alex Potts added 11 as the Wildcats (3-1) gained control early and defeated visiting Waterville.

Coeur d’Alene Charter 42, St. Regis 40: Lexi Turkenberg had 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Panthers (5-1) edged host St. Regis (Mont). Sarah Haman added 11 points and nine rebounds and Jacklyn Jensen had 10 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks for CdA Charter.

Brewster 60, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 35: Chandler Smith scored 26 points to lead the Bears past the host Warriors (3-2). Brynna Stevens led Almira/Coulee-Hartline with 14 points.

Northeast 2B

Reardan 81, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 35: Kelsey Moos had 23 points, 13 rebounds and five steals as the Indians (3-1, 1-0) got back to their winning ways with a win over the visiting Broncos (0-2, 0-1). Chantel Heath added 22 points, nine assists and five steals for the Indians, who had their 33-game winning streak snapped by Brewster on Friday.

Northeast 1B North

Cusick 51, Columbia 28: Lauren Nelson scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Panthers (3-0, 2-0) took control early and eased past the visiting Lions (1-2, 0-1). Malene Andrews added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Cusick. Columbia was led by Elizabeth Larrew’s 13 points.

Inchelium 47, Selkirk 42: Mariah Zacherley scored 20 points and the Hornets (1-2, 1-1) rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the host Rangers (2-1, 1-1). Inchelium trailed by 13 points after three quarters, but outscored Selkirk 22-4 in the fourth. Olivia Williams added 11 points for the Hornets. The Rangers were led by Katie Couch’s 21 points.

Republic 62, Northport 28: Demi Jo Vaughn had 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the Tigers (4-0, 1-0) past the visiting Mustangs (2-3, 0-2). Brianna Brown added 16 points, seven rebounds and six steals for Republic, which outscored Northport 23-2 in the third to put the game out of reach. Marissa Gilmore led Northport with 11 points.

Liberty Christian 47, LaCrosse-Washtucna 21: Sarah Croskey scored 17 points and Amber Schmidt added 15 as the Patriots (1-0, 1-0) defeated the host Tigercats (0-3, 0-2). Ashtyn Aune scored nine points for LaCrosse-Washtucna, which fell behind by 16 in the first half.

St. John-Endicott 58, Garfield-Palouse 19: Devan Bafus scored 21 points and Gretchen Van Lith added 16 as the Eagles (2-1, 2-0) routed the host Vikings (0-5, 0-1).

Colton 81, Touchet 24: Jenna Moser scored 17 points and Savannah Chadwick added 10 as the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0) overwhelmed the host Indians (0-2, 0-2).
