Obituary: Garrett, Donna
Age 75
GARRETT,
Donna
(Wilcox)
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, sister and friend passed away January 26, 2012.
Donna was born in Yakima on February 1, 1937 to LeRoy and Hazel Wilcox, the third of six children.
She graduated from Rogers High School in 1955 and those who knew her have great memories of the spitfire they fondly called “Tiny”.
In 1957, Donna married Jim Templeton and they had five daughters.
Gwen, Lisa, Nancy, Helen and Mary were the light of her life and she enjoyed dressing them alike in the clothes she lovingly hand-made for them.
In 1974, Donna married her soul mate Jack Garrett and the two moved to Lacrosse, WA and later to Hay, WA where they made homes that would fill the memories of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna loved her family fiercely and was always willing to do whatever she could to help anyone that crossed her path.
She will be remembered as a lover of sweets, baking and cats and for a laugh that was highly contagious.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim, and her daughter Nancy.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years; siblings, Beverly, Bob, Ralph and Darlene; four daughters; and five stepchildren, Juan, Javon, Marvin, Marlene and Mark; plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Please join Donna’s family for a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Valley Eagles Lodge, 16801 E. Sprague Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
