Beloved Dad and Grandpa, age 97, originally from Spirit Lake, ID, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 28, 2012.

He was born December 10, 1914 in Leavenworth, WA.

He was a lumberjack, truck driver, and diesel truck mechanic.

He loved to make homemade jelly and fruit cake.

Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Nina; wife, Lena; son, Junior; brothers, Harland, Claude and Robert; sister, Lorraine; infant son and daughter; two grandsons, one granddaughter.

Survived by sons: Jim (Bobbie), Valley Ford, WA, Jerome (Donna) Connell, WA and Billy, Portland, OR; daughters: Gloria (Leonard) Grimes, West Point, CA, Jurene (Don) Shepherd, Washougal, WA, Doreen (Randy)Langston, Goose Creek, SC, and Denise (Denny) Elke, Jr., Oak Grove, MN; 30 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1pm Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 5730 179th Lane N.W., Ramsey, MN.
