Sasquatch men hold off Big Bend
Preston Wynne scored 22 points, including two late free throws, as Community Colleges of Spokane edged Big Bend 89-86 on Wednesday in NWAACC men’s basketball at Spokane Falls CC.
Brady Bagby added 21 points for the Sasquatch (16-3, 5-1), who remained one-half game behind Yakima Valley in the East Division. Blake Skidmore of the Vikings (15-4, 5-3) scored 41 points, hitting 18 of 37 from the floor.
Women’s basketball
Alli Nielsen and Allie Kelsey combined for 37 points to guide Big Bend (14-7, 4-4) to a 64-59 win over CC Spokane at SFCC.
Amanda Buttrey and Jozlin Hicks combined for 29 points for the Sasquatch (5-13, 0-6).

Cusick 53, Selkirk 34: Andrea Heinen totaled 28 points, 12 rebounds and five steals to guide the host Panthers (13-6) past the Rangers (15-6). Haley Adams added 12 points and five assists for Cusick, which will meet Columbia at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Kettle Falls for the top two seeds to district. Selkirk will play Wellpinit at 2:30 for the third and fourth seeds.
Columbia 73, Wellpinit 32: Krista Colvin had 17 points, seven assists and nine of her team’s 15 steals as the host Lions (20-1) defeated the Redskins (7-13) at Hunters. Columbia’s Lindsay Loe added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Intermountain League
Priest River 35, Kellogg 23: The first-place Spartans (13-5, 7-0) beat the host Wildcats (8-10, 2-6) for the second consecutive night. Kellogg’s Taylor Sheppard and Kelsey Carter both had eight rebounds.
North Star League
Wallace 47, Kootenai 38: Kenzie Dire’s 12 points guided the visiting Miners past the Warriors at Harrison. Kirsten Scheffelmaier had 14 points, eight rebounds and five steals for Kootenai.

St. Maries 70, Bonners Ferry 50: Austin Linnemeyer scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and the visiting Lumberjacks (10-3, 3-1) used a third-quarter run to streak past the Badgers (5-9, 1-4). St. Maries shot 15 of 23 from the line.
Nonleague
Lakeland 52, Priest River 47: Tyrel Derrick scored 13 points and Scott Simpson had seven rebounds as the host Hawks (4-14) defeated the Spartans (5-9) at Rathdrum. PR’s Dalton Sommer scored 10 of his 14 in the first half.
