Committed Former U.S. national men’s soccer team coach Bob Bradley insisted Monday that he is “totally committed” to coaching Egypt’s national soccer team despite the turmoil in the country following the riot at a game last week that left more than 70 dead. The soccer federation president who hired Bradley last year resigned last weekend along with his board after they had already been dismissed by the prime minister in the aftermath of Wednesday’s rampage. But Bradley is sure that he will lead Egypt into African Cup of Nations qualifying. “This is a much deeper situation than football – really not the case of football fan violence – and I think it is important for people around the world to understand that,” Bradley said. “Obviously, there is a lot going on in Egypt at this time, events after the revolution, and the football community is connected with all that.”
Signed Former Olympic gold medalist and two-time WNBA champion Ruth Riley has signed with the Chicago Sky. The veteran center has averaged 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds over 11 seasons and has made the playoffs 10 times. She spent the past five seasons with San Antonio, helping the 2008 team reach the WNBA finals after winning championships with the Detroit Shock in 2003 and 2006. She also led Notre Dame to a national championship in 2001 and won the gold medal with the U.S. Olympic team in 2004.

Investigating University of Wisconsin campus police have opened an investigation into new misconduct allegations against former associated athletic director John Chadima, who resigned after he was accused of sexually assaulting a student at a Rose Bowl party. Chancellor David Ward didn’t specify what Chadima may have done. The statement said the accusations involve an adult male and police will continue to investigate.
