Colfax boys hand Northwest Christian first defeat

Justin Berarducci led three players in double figures with 21 points and Colfax (18-5) upset Northwest Christian (22-1) 58-52 in the District 7 2B basketball title game Friday night at Mt. Spokane High School.

Brandon Gfeller added 15 points, nine assists and five rebounds for the Bulldogs (18-5), who advance to the regional tournament as the No. 1 seed.

Dakota Winward had 20 points and Kwinn Hanson added 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Crusaders, who will play Davenport in a loser-out game tonight at Mt. Spokane.

Davenport 54, Reardan 47: Cole Evers scored 26 points as the Gorillas (17-7) beat the Indians (14-10) in a loser-out game at Mt. Spokane. Brandon Kohler had 14 points.

1A subregional

Okanogan 59, Freeman 47: Joe Townsend scored 31 points and led the Bulldogs past the Scotties (15-8) in Chelan. Cody Unfred had 26 points for Freeman, which will play Colville today in Chelan for the third and final berth to the regional tournament.

Cashmere 65, Colville 32: Cooper Elliott scored 18 points as the Bulldogs routed the Indians (15-11) in Chelan. J.R. Henry had seven points and Matt Hubbard pulled down 12 rebounds for Colville.

District 9 1B

Colton 73, St. John-Endicott 61: Dustin Patchen had 23 points, 16 rebounds and nine blocks as the Wildcats (19-2) claimed their first district title with a win over the Eagles (14-7) in Endicott. Josh Straughan added 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Colton, which will advance to the regional tournament as the No. 1 seed. St. John-Endicott will play Rosalia today in Endicott, with the winner advancing to regionals.

Rosalia 76, LaCrosse-Washtucna 58: Craig Nelson scored 23 points and Damian Loucks added 18 points and seven rebounds as the Spartans (14-10) topped the Tigercats (10-14) in Endicott. Jed Zimer had 17 points and nine rebounds for LaCrosse-Washtucna, which was eliminated.

1A Subregional

Freeman 47, Colville 24: Molly McIntyre had 10 points as the Scotties (23-1) whipped the Indians (16-7) in Chelan. Freeman will play Chelan at 5 tonight in Chelan to determine the top two seeds to the regional tournament. Colville will play Okanogan at 1 p.m. in a winner-to-regionals, loser-out game.

District 7 2B

Reardan 55, Colfax 44: Kelsey Moos scored 19 points as the Indians (23-0) rallied in the fourth quarter to beat the Bulldogs (16-7) at Mt. Spokane High School. Reardan claimed the No. 1 seed to regionals. The Bulldogs will play Northwest Christian in a loser-out game tonight at Mt. Spokane for the second and final berth to regionals.

District 9 1B

Colton 75, Tekoa-Oakesdale 28: Haley Moser scored 18 points and Jenna Moser added 16 as the Wildcats (22-0) routed the Nighthawks (15-7) in Endicott. Colton advances to the regional tournament as the top seed. Tekoa-Oakesdale will play St. John-Endicott tonight in Endicott for the No. 2 seed to regionals.

St. John-Endicott 44, Garfield-Palouse 41: Sami Bailey and Devan Bafus scored nine points apiece as the Eagles (13-8) edged the Vikings (10-11) in Endicott. Kaycie Adair had 16 points for Garfield-Palouse, which was eliminated.
