Obituary: Graybeal, Douglas Earl
Age 67
Passed into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, January 25, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at his beloved log home in Spokane known as “Doogerville,” after a short courageous battle with brain cancer.
Doug was born March 9, 1944, to Earl and Helen Graybeal in Chadron, Nebraska and is predeceased by his father, Earl and his older brother Larry.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Graybeal; brothers, Bob (Jonni) and Dick (Leona) Graybeal; sister, Deanna (Tom) Bernhoft; daughter, Susan (Martin) Graybeal; grandsons Jacob and Austin Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Jeff Peer.
Doug loved his “Doogerville” log home, an idyllic wooded setting where he enjoyed tending his vegetable and flower garden, maintaining his ever present fire in the fireplace, and enjoying Fox News, NASCAR racing (Kevin Harvick fan) and Gonzaga basketball, not to mention entertaining his many friends and family.
Of course, Nebraska football was a must also.

Doug was joyful, vibrant, and enjoyed life to the fullest, and especially loved the outdoors.
He enjoyed camping and boating at Priest Lake with friends and family.
He also loved golfing, fishing and mountain biking.
Doug worked his way through high school working at Peter Rabbit Stores, before graduating from Wenatchee High in the class of 1962.
Doug was a successful off-set pressman, working in the printing industry for 38 years.

Cameron, Zach and Mike helped Doug and his family more than they will ever know.
Also special thanks to Schree Wade for her loving, caring spirit and all the things she did to make Doug comfortable: taking him to the doctor, making special meals, and her kindness, which made all the difference to Doug.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held in Spokane in April with close friends and family, with another remembrance to be held in Chewelah in July.
