In brief: Business awards finalists announced

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for its business of the year awards. The awards are given every year at the Chamber’s “Gem of the Valley” Gala in January. This year’s event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel. The winners will be announced during the event.

The finalists are: small business of the year – Fashion Carpets, Independent Wealth Connections, Tracy Jewelers; medium business of the year – Baker Construction and Development, Liberty Lake Physical Therapy, The BrickHouse Massage and Coffee Bar; large business of the year – KXLY TV, Rosauers Supermarkets, Valley Hospital; nonprofit of the year – Hutton Settlement, NAWBO, Valleyfest.

The finalists for the chamber member volunteer of the year are Cindra Shields of Graphic Business Systems, Josh Johnson of the Liberty Lake Splash and Rick and Diana Wilhite of Safeguard Northwest Business Printing and Promotional Products. The finalists for the community caring award are the Spokane Valley Holiday Inn Express, Hutton Settlement and KREM TV.

Registration open for Little League

SPOKANE VALLEY – Registration for Riverview Little League is now open.

Register online at www.riverview littleleague.com. Walk-up registration will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and again Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and March 6 at Roundtable Pizza, 15402 E. Sprague Ave., or Liberty Lake Elementary School, 23606 E. Boone Ave.

Players must present a proof of residency and a birth certificate.
