SPOKANE COUNTY – The Spokane County commissioners are seeking to fill a series of vacancies on county boards and commissions.

The openings are for the Civil Service Commission, Spokane County Shooting Advisory Committee, Developmental Disabilities Board, and Emergency Services Communications Policy Board.

Also, the Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee, Substance Abuse Advisory Board, and Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

Saturday supply drive to benefit SpokAnimal

CHIEF GARRY PARK – The 16th annual Helter Shelter supply drive and adoption event to benefit SpokAnimal will be Saturday at the Dorothy Clark Animal Center, 710 N. Napa St., from noon to 2 p.m.

The fundraiser will feature a dog kissing booth, giveaways and snow cones.

Donations of pet food, dog biscuits, cat litter, blankets, pet toys, cleaning supplies and cash will be accepted at the ASPCA Subaru and 98.9 KKZX will be broadcasting live. There will also be vaccination and microchip clinics.
