Religion Notebook: Senior day at IHRC

Senior day at IHRC

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road, will host its second Summer Senior Day on Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

The event, designed for those 55 and older, will include lunch, social time, live music, games and tours of the facility.

The cost to attend is $10.

Buddhist Obon celebration

Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present the Rev. Grant Ikuta from the Canadian Buddhist Churches on Sunday during two services.

The first will be at 9 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way for the Obon cemetery service. Obon is a festival of souls celebrated in July in Japan to honor departed ancestors.

Ikuta will give the Dharma talk during the 10:30 a.m. service at the temple.
