Fonda not awed by attention at Cannes

Don’t get Jane Fonda wrong. The 74-year-old actress got a thrill when she wowed the fashion crowd at France’s Cannes Film Festival in a form-fitting, two-tone Stella McCartney gown.

“It’s very nice at my age to have glamour attention – something I missed out on when I was younger so it’s nice to be getting it now,” she says. But the two-time Academy Award-winner says she can’t take it too seriously: “It goes as fast as the walk on the red carpet does, it’s over and real life comes back.”

Fonda plays a hippie grandmother in “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding,” which debuts in limited release and on Video On Demand today.

Hill faces federal tax charges

Eight-time Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has been charged with failing to file income tax returns for several years with the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. attorney’s office in New Jersey announced Thursday.

Hill, 37, earned more than $1.6 million during 2005, 2006 and 2007, the three years she failed to file returns, federal prosecutors said. Hill’s primary source of income is royalties from the recording and film industries, prosecutors said.

Hill got her start with The Fugees and began her solo career in 1998 with the critically acclaimed album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

She then largely disappeared from public view to raise her six children, five of whom she had with Rohan Marley, the son of famed reggae singer Bob Marley.

McKellar ending 3-year-old marriage

The wonder years are over for Danica McKellar and her husband of three years – the actress has filed for divorce.

McKellar cited irreconcilable differences for the breakup from composer Michael Verta in her petition, which was filed on Monday in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old is best known for playing Winnie Cooper on ABC’s “The Wonder Years.” She went on to author three books on mathematics with titles such as “Math Doesn’t Suck” and “Kiss My Math.” The pair married in March 2009 and have a son who will be 2 years old in September.
