Passed away from this world to the loving arms of the Lord on May 18, 2012.
She fought hard and was very courageous during her battle with cancer.
She was born on June 17th, 1941 to Othal and Orvil Lee Hood in Wallace, Idaho at Providence Hospital.
She was brought home by her parents who loved her dearly to a two room house up Gorge Gulch in Burke, Idaho.
She also lived in Osburn, Idaho while growing up in the Silver Valley.
She graduated from Wallace High School in 1958.
After high school, she attended beauty school in Wallace and finished in Spokane, Washington while staying at a girls boarding house.
After returning from the East Coast with four children, she moved back to Osburn.
She was soon employed at the Sunshine Inn in Kellogg Idaho.
From there, she moved to a brand new split level home in Greenacres, Washington where she lived for many years.
She was then employed at the Ridpath Hotel as a waitress for number of years determined to support her four children.
After about thirty years working as a waitress, she decided to change careers and went to school to become a nurse’s aid where she stayed at that position until retirement.
The joy of her life was her husband Laurence (Larry) whom she was married to for 19 years.
Larry loved Betty and took extremely good care of her.
He was the best husband Betty could possibly have.
Not to be forgotten, Betty loved her animals, Rosie Ann, Ellie Mae and Tinkerbell.
She is preceded in death by her parents Othal and Orvil Lee Hood.
She is survived by her loving husband Larry; her children, Douglas Terry, Lorraine Lindsey, Michel Terry, and Gregory Terry; her sons and saughters-in-Law Greg and Deborah Ducharme and Lynn and Tom Gates, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:00AM at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley.
