Wreck spills boat into I-90 traffic

An accident on Interstate 90 left a boat out of the water and in a westbound lane just before rush hour today. A truck hauling the boat was westbound just after 4 p.m. when the trailer began fishtailing 2 miles east of Liberty Lake, according to a news release from Washington State Patrol. The boat and trailer then flipped over, blocking the left lane of westbound traffic. But while the boat was blocking westbound traffic, the luxury water craft was nonetheless impacting drivers headed east: The eastbound “distraction backup” was approximately 6 miles long, stretching to Barker Road, WSP said around 5 p.m.
