Evelyn P.
(Age 89 )

Passed away February 29, 2012.

Evelyn was born in Spokane, WA, February 19, 1923, to George and Anna Sinfield.

She graduated from North Central High School in 1941.

In 1943 she married E. Norman Sylvester.

Evelyn very efficiently managed Norm’s architectural business for many years.

In addition to architecture, they were also involved in several other business ventures.

They brought Boehm’s Candy Kitchen to Spokane.

They were some of the original founders of the 49 Degrees North Ski area and enjoyed many years of hunting, skiing and snowmobiling.

She and Norm traveled to many places in the world.

They were married for 43 years until he died in 1986 when their private plane crashed coming home from a job.

Evelyn’s main enjoyment was the family as well as playing classical piano, sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking.

She is survived by daughter, Stephanie Cumming and husband, Jerry; son, Dennis Sylvester and wife, Penni; grandchildren: Jeff Sylvester (Darla Kaye), Todd Cumming (Elsa), Wendi Clouse (Matt), Heather Irmer (Mike); great-grandchildren: Amanda and Randy Sylvester, Shelby Irmer, Evelyn, Violet and Sammy Cumming, Tyler, Colby and Kaylynn Clouse; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Leona Johnson.

Our most sincere thanks to the wonderful staff and caregivers at Colonial Court for the kind and loving care given to Mom over the last thirteen months.

Viewing will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 2:00-8:00 pm at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.

A private family graveside service will be held.
