Our beloved Yellow Rose of Texas passed away peacefully February 29, 2012.
She was born December 20, 1922, in Pleasanton, Texas, the daughter of Clara and Louis Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Everett Ray Beers and Merton Bader Howell; longtime companion, Calvin McCray; and grandson, David Beers.
She is survived by her five children, Everett and Jim Beers, Linda McKay (Howell), John Howell, Susan (Tom) Mortensen (Howell); and grandchildren, Jim, Steve, Jennifer, Amy, Jamie, Ken, Tim, Tina, Bart and Erica.
Louise’s family continues to grow with 18 great-grandchildren.
Mom’s accomplishments in life are too many to list but she never met a stranger, was generous to a fault, loved by all and made the best pineapple upside down cake.
A family Texas barbeque to celebrate mom’s life will be held at a later date.
We will miss your smile, your hugs and words of wisdom that only you could possess.
