Spokane resident, Cecilia M. Manfred, 98, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 10, with her two daughters at her side.


Cecilia was born January 10, 1914 in Kalispell, MT to John and Anna Nohel.

In
1919 Cecilia’s family moved to a farm six miles from Sandpoint, ID.

She married Joseph Manfred and the family moved to Pasco, WA in the late l930’s.

Cecilia was president of St. Patrick’s Altar Society.

In l960 they moved to Spokane and following her husband’s Joe’s death in l961 she worked for New York Life and University Pharmacy.

Cecilia volunteered at O’Malley Senior Center for many years.

Cecilia was also preceded in death by brother Joe Nohel and sister Margaret Best.

She is survived by three children: Joanne Bovey and Mary Manfred of Spokane, and Lee Manfred, of Anchorage; six grand- children and ten great-grandchildren.

Her beautiful smile and gentle ways will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Rosary will be held Thursday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 3423 E. Carlisle with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall St.
