WEDDLE, Virgil
(Age 95)

Passed away March 16, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

He was born November 18, 1916 in Bloom, KS to Norman and Grace Weddle.

Virgil grew up in Delano, CA and in January of 1942 enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force, serving during WWII.

Just before he deployed to the Pacific for three years, he met Velma Maltby in Yakima, WA.

Shortly after he returned they married on December 5, 1945 in Yakima, where they made their home.

Virgil worked as a salesman for Yakima Hardware for many years.

The couple moved to California for a few years to take care of Virgil’s father and then returned to Washington, settling in Spokane.

He then went to work as a credit manager for the Polson Company.

In 1984, Virgil and Velma became snowbirds, spending the next nine years traveling back and forth to Arizona.

He enjoyed fishing, reading and gardening in his yard.

He was also a life member of the V.F.W.

Virgil is survived by his loving wife, Velma Weddle of Spokane, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ora Weddle and sister, Marie Maust.
