Report: 49ers hire Wulff
Football: Paul Wulff has reportedly landed a job with an NFL team.
The former Washington State coach told Cougfan.com on Friday that he’s been hired as an offensive assistant with the San Francisco 49ers under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Phone messages left for Wulff and the 49ers were not returned.
Wulff, who was fired by WSU in November after compiling a 9-40 record in four seasons, coached against Harbaugh from 2008-2010 when Harbaugh was at Stanford.
It will be Wulff’s first coaching job outside of the area. He coached the offensive line at Eastern Washington from 1993 to 1997, served as offensive coordinator in 1998 and 1999, then was the team’s head coach from 2000-2007 before taking the head job at WSU.
