The Phoenix Coyotes could have easily conceded the Western Conference finals to the Los Angeles Kings. The Coyotes just aren’t built that way. These desert dogs are at their best when cornered and they took the first step toward digging out of a monumental hole by beating the Kings 2-0 in Los Angeles on Sunday. Of course, that was only one step. The Kings still lead the series 3-1 heading into Game 5 in Glendale, Ariz., tonight ( 6, NBC Sports) and have been unbeatable on the road, winning their first seven playoff games away from the Staples Center to match an NHL record.
