On May 13, 2012 Robert H. McAlpin went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, survived by his wife Karen of 39 years; daughters Barbara, Mary, Tish, Heidi; and sons Andy and Bill.
Preceded in death by his son, Rob, he was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert, born July 21, 1926 in Bolton, MS, was one of seven siblings, Jean, Malcolm, Carol, Richard, Emily and Betsy.
Robert joined the U.S. Navy during World War II; as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific he was decorated with many ribbons.
He attended college on the GI bill, majoring in electrical engineering.
He worked for various telephone communication companies until founding Romac Corp. in 1978.
A celebration of his life is set for 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 29 at Fourth Memorial Church: 2000 N. Standard, Spokane, Pastor Neil Anderson officiating.
Robert received excellent care from Family Home Care and the nurses at Holy Family Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Robert may send donations to Union Gospel Mission or Fourth Memorial Church.
