A fire on Beacon Hill was contained within about an hour Friday afternoon.
Flames were reported about 4:44 a.m. on the east side of the hill, which is located near East Euclid Avenue and North Havana Street in Spokane.
A plume of smoke was visible for miles.
The fire was contained by about 6 p.m., dispatchers said.
Crews from the city of Spokane Fire Department and Spokane County Fire District 9 worked the blaze. The cause was not immediately known Friday.
