GSL tennis players knocked into consolations

No Greater Spokane League players remain in the championship bracket after Friday’s play in the State 4A tournament at Richland, but three will play for consolation titles.

In boys singles, Gonzaga Prep’s Alex Marcinkowski will play in the fourth/seventh match while Ferris’ Tom Geranios is in the fifth/eighth final.

Leslie Ho of Central Valley is in the fourth/seventh girls singles final.

2A: The Clarkston girls doubles team of KC McConnell and Ashley Meyers swept to two victories to reach the semifinals in Seattle.

Ryan and Drew Adams of Clarkston won their opening singles matches before losing and dropping into the consolation bracket.

Medical Lake’s Ismael Teshome and Jake Wesselman are in the fourth/seventh semifinals in boys doubles.

Pullman teammates Hannah Adams and Stephanie Her will meet in the girls fifth/eighth semifinals.

The Pullman doubles team of Shayla Robinson and Brittani Harvey is also in the fifth-eighth semis.

1A/2B/1B: In Yakima, Lauren Schulz of Reardan and Miranda Mielke both won two matches each and would meet in the girls singles final with victories in their first matches today.

Tracy Melville of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague is in the fifth/eighth semifinals.

In girls doubles, the Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) team of Susie Aguirre and Nicky March and Colville’s Liseotte Doggen and Erin Little also reached the semifinals in different halves of the bracket.
