U-Hi’s ‘Les Miserables’ an amazing production
Friday evening I was able to attend University High School’s production of “Les Miserables.”
I was amazed that this was a high school production; it was very comparable to the Broadway performance of “Les Miz.” It blew me away. What professional sounding voices the performers have and so many talented students. The costuming and set construction were likewise amazing, with a circular rotating section in the center of the stage.
At first I thought it was recorded music and then realized they had a live orchestra in an orchestra pit. Briane Green, the drama teacher and director, and her husband George Green, the executive artistic director of Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene, who did the set design and was the technical director, put so much work and effort into this production, as did all those who worked on the play and performed in it.
You can be so proud of having such awesome talent in your community.
