Man accused of shooting girlfriend in face

Police search for attempted murder suspect

Spokane police have issued an attempted murder arrest warrant for Joshua B. Graham. The 30-year-old Graham is suspected of shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend in the face Monday afternoon near Whitman Elementary in north Spokane. She was in serious condition at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Police Cpl. Jon Strickland said Graham and the woman were in the front yard of 1524 E. Everett Ave. at 2:45 p.m. when a witness driving past saw the woman was bleeding and stopped to help. They put the woman in their truck and took her to nearby Providence Holy Family Hospital. Graham then disappeared, Strickland said. He has previous convictions for armed robbery, drugs, domestic violence and assault. Police surrounded the home for about two hours Monday afternoon. After entry they discovered no one was inside. The shooting likely took place in the alley behind the home, according to police. Strickland said the only 911 call about the shooting came from Graham. “We have learned that there were several witnesses to this,” said police spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe. “We’re asking them to come forward.”
