Expected Heat players LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis are among those expected to play for Miami today when the reigning NBA champions make their preseason debut against the Atlanta Hawks. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony will be held out of the game. Dwyane Wade will be listed as “day-to-day” for the entire preseason while he works his way back from offseason knee surgery.

Criticized Three days after he was banned from New Zealand, Mike Tyson criticized the decision to revoke his visa because of his rape conviction. The former heavyweight champion was to travel to Auckland in November before authorities on Wednesday denied him entry. Tyson had been hoping to perform his one-man show called “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.”

Arrested University of Connecticut tailback Lyle McCombs was arrested, accused of yelling, pushing and spitting at his girlfriend during an argument outside a residential hall, police said. The 166-pound sophomore was charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said.

• Temple defensive tackle Kamal Johnson was arrested on charges stemming from an alleged assault on his girlfriend, also a student at the university in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the 20-year-old junior was arraigned on felony kidnapping and misdemeanor charges. Bail was set at $25,000.

• Mixed martial arts fighter Jeremy Stephens has been arrested. Minneapolis police took the 26-year-old into custody Friday morning at a downtown hotel on a felony assault warrant from Iowa. UFC president Dana White said late Friday that he has been unsuccessful in his efforts to cut a deal to get Stephens out on bail.

Announced Big East Commissioner Mike Aresco said he has chosen to talk to Navy about the possibility of joining the conference earlier than its scheduled 2015 arrival as a football- only member.
