St. Maries Lumberjacks have lofty goals

St. Maries begins its second year in the three-team Central Idaho League, and the Lumberjacks will be chasing favorite Grangeville.

The Lumberjacks return four starters, led by senior quarterback/ free safety Luke Feasline and senior running back/linebacker Brad Macumber.

“The seniors are playing in their fourth year in the same system offensively and defensively,” coach Craig Tefft said. “Hopefully this will allow them to play with more confidence and play faster.”

The road to the playoffs goes through Grangeville.

“This team has big goals for the season,” Tefft said. “They would like to put together a season that hasn’t happened in St. Maries in many years.”
