Obituary: Murphy, Veronica Ida

MURPHY, Veronica Ida 93 Years of Life A resident of Spokane, Washington, formerly of Lind and Colville, Washington, passed away on December 12, 2013.

Veronica is the loving mother of Russ Miller of Elk, Washington, Tom Miller of Olympia, Washington, and Jan Hust of Vancouver, Washington.

Her stepchildren are Tim Murphy of Boise, Idaho, and Kathi Povintevin of Spokane, Washington.

Mrs. Murphy’s sisters are Marilyn Woods and Wanda Michael of Lewiston, Idaho.

She enjoyed seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands: Arthur Raymond Miller and Henry “Hap” Murphy.

Born in 1920 at Green Creek, Idaho, Veronica graduated from Craigmont, Idaho, and from Beauty School.

She lived in various communities in Idaho and Washington, and was a longtime bookkeeper at Egger’s Furniture and Barney’s Electric in Colville.

Mrs. Murphy was an avid “Bridge Player”, an accomplished cook, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and fishing.

She is a member of the Catholic Church and a strong supporter of the church’s Alter Society.

Funeral Mass honoring Mrs. Murphy will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at St. Mary Presentation Catholic Church located at East 602 - 6th Ave., in Deer Park with Rev.

Father Albert Grasher celebrant.
