Two wanted for questioning in party shooting

Two men are wanted for questioning in connection with the New Year’s Day shooting of an 18-year girl. Spokane police say Kurt Garber and Mychal Wahl, both 23, were at the party in North Spokane where the girl was shot. Detectives investigating the attack say they want to talk with the two men and are asking anyone who might know where they are to contact police. The victim was inside the house at 4207 N. Jefferson when a barrage of gunfire hit from outside, tearing through the walls and door. At least one of the bullets hit her in the upper torso, police said. Neighbors reported hearing as many as 12 shots fired into the home about 3 a.m. Police said it’s unclear if the gunman was standing outside or if the shots were fired from a passing vehicle. About an hour before the shooting, there was a fight outside the house. The victim, whose identity has not been released, remains in a local hospital but is described by police as being in stable condition.
