Education

The International Council for the Advancement of Support of Education (CASE) has awarded Chrissy Shelton and Kurt Heimbigner with the 2013 Rising Star Award. The award honors fundraising professionals with three to five years in the advancement profession. Shelton is currently the assistant director at Washington State University’s College of Education. She created the Cougar Colleagues and Recent Graduate programs for the WSU Foundation. Heimbigner is the director of marketing services for the Gonzaga University Marketing and Communications Department.

Gonzaga Law School has honored John R. Clark by establishing an endowment in his name that will provide student loan repayment assistance to selected graduates working as public defenders. Clark, an alum of the law school, provided 30 years of service as a criminal defense attorney before he died in 2010.

Finance

Hart Capital Management has hired Jim Czirr as an equities analyst. Czirr previously worked as a fundraiser for Whitworth University, where he also received his undergraduate degree and MBA in business administration.

AmericanWest Bank has hired Mark Botterbusch and promoted Adam King, both to the position of commercial relationship manager. Botterbusch has 15 years of commercial lending and leadership experiece. King joined the bank in 2010 and will bring commercial banking and credit experience to the role.

Law

Daniel E. Stowe has become a partner at Etter, McMahon, Lamberson, Clary & Oreskovich, P.C. Stowe has 15 years of experience, primarily with defendants in civil litigation.

Non-Profit

Downtown Spokane Partnership has named Mark Richard as the organization’s president. Richard, a life-long resident of Spokane, is a retired two-term Spokane County commissioner with a wealth of management experience.

Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network has opened Cleone’s Closet, located at 13514 W. Sunset Highway in Airway Heights. The store sells new and gently-used clothing for men, women, children and infants, as well as household items. Proceeds of sales will support services to assist victims of domestic violence. KHQ-TV and KAYU-TV have hired Kjerstin Ramsing as an anchor for FOX First at Ten. Ramsing reported previously in Spokane and also at WXIN-Fox59 in Indianapolis.
