Area residents complete military basic training
Several area residents have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
Air Force Airman Austin Dodds earned distinction as an honor graduate. He graduated from Ferris High School in 2005.
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Alec Pauly is a 2011 graduate of Shadle Park High School and the son of Kara Kinney of Spokane.
Air National Guard Airman Austin Rheingans is the son of Brian Rheingans, of Spokane. He graduated from Riverside High School in Chattaroy in 2010.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Michael Schaffer is the son of James and Janet Schaffer of Spokane, and a 2011 graduate of Eastern Washington University.
Air Force Airman Meranda Mathis is a 2012 graduate of East Valley High School. She is the daughter of Tina and Justin Mathis of Spokane Valley.
Air Force Airman Bryan Alves graduated from University High School in 2012. He is the son of Bryan Alves, of Spokane Valley.
