Coeur d’Alene man charged with rape, kidnapping

Coeur d’Alene police are holding 31-year-old Michael D. Nixon at Kootenai Medical Center on charges of raping and kidnapping an underage family member. Nixon is being treated for self-inflicted injuries after a standoff that lasted into the evening Monday in north central Coeur d’Alene. Nixon’s bond has been set at $500,000. A release from the department said Nixon’s injuries were not life-threatening and he would be taken to jail when released from the hospital.
