Hasselbeck moving to ‘Fox & Friends’

From Wire Reports

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is taking her view to Fox News.

After shooting down rumors of her exit from “The View,” it looks like Hasselbeck will depart from her seat on the daytime talker to set up shop at “Fox & Friends.” Today is her last day on the long-running gabfest.

The departure of Hasselbeck, the conservative voice of the bunch, signals a changing of the guard on the talk show – Joy Behar announced she’d be leaving at the end of the current season, and Barbara Walters announced she’ll be retiring in 2014.

It’s a musical chairs more akin to prime-time singing competition shows. The announcement comes on the heels of reports that Jenny McCarthy is poised to take up Behar’s spot at the end of the summer.

John cancels show for health reasons

Elton John has canceled a show in London’s Hyde Park due to appendicitis that will require surgery. A statement issued Tuesday by the musician’s publicist said John was suffering from an inflamed appendix and surrounding abscess.

He has been advised by doctors to cancel his concerts while he undergoes a regime of antibiotics to treat the abscess. That will be followed by surgery in the next few weeks.

The 66-year-old performer had been due to play an outdoor concert in London’s Hyde Park on Friday on a bill with Elvis Costello and Ray Davies.

Concert organizers said the show will go on – for free – with the remaining lineup and that ticket holders will receive a full refund.

Bynes makes court date in aqua wig

Amanda Bynes showed up to court Tuesday wearing a long aqua wig for an appearance on allegations that she tossed a marijuana bong from the window of her Manhattan apartment.

The 27-year-old actress is charged with reckless endangerment and attempted tampering with physical evidence. She did not speak at a brief court appearance Tuesday.

Bynes was arrested in May after building officials called police to complain she was smoking pot in the lobby. Officers went to her apartment where they say they saw a bong sitting on the kitchen counter. Prosecutors say she tossed the bong out the window in front of the officers.

Her next court date is Sept. 26.
