Obituary: Hanson, Loren E.
Age 80
Loren was born July 19, 1933.
He was the son of Ted Hanson and Violet Hudlow Hanson.
He is survived by stepbrother Bob White; sister Shirley White Randolf; brother Bud Edward White; sister Lola Morgan; sister Susan McGoldrick; daughter Tesa Groesbeck, son-in-law Bill Groesbeck, and grandchild Brandon Groesbeck.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother Burt White.
He was born in Spokane, WA and lived with his mother and stepfather until the age of 14 when he moved to Kalispell Montana to live on the cattle ranch with his father.
He had an enormous love for animals and the outdoors.
He cared for his horses, cows, pet deer, and chipmunk on the ranch, and was truly in his element away from the city life.
He learned to become a very successful handyman - able to engineer whatever was necessary to get the job done.
Loren joined the Air force in 1952 and served until 1956.
He is a veteran of the Korean War.
Later in life he met his wife Tara Lloyd and moved to Alaska to start a new adventure.
He has held a few odd jobs throughout his years including master plumber, butcher, and insurance agent.
He finally found his calling as business owner of Alaska Driving School.
He loved to teach others how to drive, and was a wonderful mentor.
Loren was a people person who loved to talk and had the gift of gab.
A few of his favorite interests included fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, dancing and listening to music.
After retirement he enjoyed raising birds from hatchlings and hand feeding them.
Loren was a true nurturer, very loving and generous man.
Please join his family at his services, to be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Monday, August 5th, 2013 at 1:30pm - 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA 99022.
