Obituary: Starkey, Lester L.
Age 77
Les is survived by his loving wife Maxine of 42 years; his son Steven; and daughters Tanya and Tiffany, all of Spokane; six grandchildren, Steven, Avery, Lauren, Owen, Ainsley and Natalie, and two great grandchildren, Triston and Ava.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald, Gerald, and Marvin Williams.
Les was a resident of the Spokane area his entire life.
He attended North Central High School.
He worked for Northwest Bedding for many years before retiring at the age of 64.
He was a long time member of the Teamsters Union.
Les enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, telling stories and sharing a good joke.
He loved to talk and made new friends everywhere he went.
In his younger days he was known for playing guitar and singing country music throughout the area.
He loved spending time with his grandkids, all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
He was a kind man who always put others before himself.
We will miss our “Pa”.
A Visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 from 2:00 - 5:30 pm at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
