Obituary: Seim, Adeline Olivia

Age 91

SEIM, Adeline Olivia (Age 91) Adeline Olivia Seim was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota December 19, 1921 to Harry and Sena Olson.

She died of cancer surrounded by loving family on May 29, 2013 in the confidence that nothing, not even death, can separate her from the love of Jesus Christ her Lord.

She was employed as a manager of a Sears store after graduating from high school in 1941.

She married Howard M. Seim on November 22, 1943 in Fergus Falls.

The Seim’s served at many Army bases in the U.S. during Mr. Seim’s tour of duty.

They settled in Ritzville, WA 1947 where they founded and operated Seim Builder’s Supply and lumber yard.

While in Ritzville, Adeline volunteered her time generously to the American Red Cross, Emanuel Lutheran church VBS and Ritzville Chamber of Commerce Board member and President.

They retired in 1994 and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the U.S. in their motor home.

In 2002, they moved to Orchard Crest Retirement Community in Spokane Valley where her husband Howard passed away later that year.

They were happily married for 59 years.

Adeline’s quick wit, constant radiant smile and twinkling eyes brought a ray of sunshine to everyone she touched in life.

Adeline is survived by son Harold and his wife Janie, Spokane, WA; son Rick Seim, Kirkland, WA; three grandsons, Cody, Eric, and Spencer; two step grandchildren, Jon Schlenske and Rebecca Mason and three step grandchildren Taylor Schlenske, DJ Romero and Jaycob Schlenske.

Adeline lived well and loved well - she will be missed.

A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held in the chapel at Orchard Crest Retirement Community at 222 S. Evergreen Road in Spokane Valley at 10:00am on Saturday, June 8, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Spokane or The American Red Cross.
