Obituary: Holden, Charles Thornton “Chuck”

HOLDEN, Charles Thornton “Chuck” (Age 89) Was taken into our Lord’s arms on June 9, 2013, and was born August 19, 1923.

Chuck met the love of his life, Velma of 70 years while stationed in Newport, Oregon.

Chuck is a retired Coast Guard Veteran of WWII; he also worked for the USPS and retired at the age of 54.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing horse shoes.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Velma; his daughters: Marilynn Whitney and Donna Myers; their son, Charles B. Holden; his sisters: Mary Tally and Delores Holmes, six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Holden; his daughter Autumn Rose Holden and his two sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson.
