Obituary: Zwight, Kathryn (Hastie)
She was the third daughter born to Owen and Bea Hastie in Entiat, WA.
She graduated from Entiat High School and studied music at Eastern State College for one year before being married.
She married Guilford Zwight in 1943.
She found the love of her life at the age of 15 when she asked Guilford to a girl-ask-boy dance and they continued as partners and soul mates through 67 years of marriage.
They lived in Entiat close to family, raising their two children, forming lifelong friendships and creating Zwight Logging Co.
In 1971 they moved the logging company to Yakima where they joined Englewood Christian Church and formed a very close group of friends.
They loved spending their leisure time at their Priest Lake, Idaho lake home.
In 2008 they moved to Spokane to manage their health issues at Touchmark Retirement Community.
Kathryn always gave generously, was a loyal and supportive wife, and deeply involved mother and extremely proud Grandma “K”.
She was preceded in death by Guilford, her parents, two sisters Kilbourne Harris and Margaret Harris.
She is survived by daughter, Janet (Randy) McNeice; son, Steve (Debbie) Zwight; grandsons, Brad (Jackie Mulanax) McNeice, Ryan (Sarah) McNeice; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Kathryn and Elliot Ryan McNeice; two step granddaughters, Alexandra and Samantha Mulanax; four nieces, Suellen Harris, Nancy Harris, Barbara Harris and DeAnn Zwight.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Touchmark Retirement Community and Hospice of Spokane for the loving care.
