Bonners Ferry man injured in collision with train

A Bonners Ferry man was injured after he stopped his pickup truck on railroad tracks and it was hit by a train. Kyle G. Maas, 27, was taken to Boundary Community Hospital after the accident at 3 a.m. today, a news release from the Idaho State Police said. Maas was treated and released, a spokesperson for the hospital said. The incident occurred on the Pine Island Road Burlington Northern crossing. Maas was driving a 2008 Dodge quad-cab pickup and was not wearing a seat belt, the release said. His truck was hit by a southbound Burlington Northern train.
