Obituary: Duren, Robbie E.
Age 94
Born February 16, 1919 to James and Myrtle Chambers in Edgemont, AR, Robbie was the 5th of ten children.
Robbie lived a rich and colorful life enjoying many interests including gardening, watching golf and baseball, supporting the Mariners for many years before switching to the Detroit Tigers for the 2013 season.
Robbie married Herman Edward Duren in 1936.
They lived in St. Maries, Seattle, and Spokane before settling in Dalton Gardens, ID.
Having a strong work ethic she helped make ends meet during the lean times working in a Laundromat pressing shirts.
After moving to Dalton Gardens, she maintained a large garden providing relatives and friends with the bounty of her harvest.
She had many talents, enjoyed quilting, and raising flowers along with her gardening.
She entered many of her quilts, flowers and canned good into the county fairs.
In the latter years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Ann and James Edward Chambers, her husband Herman, sisters Ollie Kenna, Hester Rooney, Pauline Hartsfield, Georgia Tombari, brothers Traverse Chambers, Milton (Red) Chambers, and Homer Chambers.
She is survived by her brothers Leo Chambers and Rod Chambers, daughter Clara Nyberg, grandchildren Debra, Keith, and Gwen Nyberg, numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
A Visitation will be Friday, November 15 from 3pm to 5pm at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 16 at 1pm at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho.
