Broncos cruise into 2B quarterfinals

Dylan Hartz threw two touchdown passes to Ryan Whitmore, Conor O’Neill ran for two scores, and Cort Ruzicka rushed for another as Lind-Ritzville/Sprague beat DeSales 41-14 to advance to the State 2B quarterfinals.

The Broncos will face either White Swan in Yakima Valley or Northeast 2B rival Colfax in Spokane. Colfax plays at White Swan today. The Broncos defeated Colfax 39-0 in the regular-season.

1A playoffs

Darrin Miller ran for touchdowns of 10, nine, and 18 yards as Royal shut out visiting Riverside 42-0.

Quarterback Kaden Jenks threw for touchdowns of 50 and 20 yards. Royal will meet the winner of today’s Riverview-Freeman game.

1B play-ins

Wilbur-Creston 64, Selkirk 12: Mason Copeland returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown, Dorian Jaeger scored on an 83-yard kick return and the Wildcats rolled past the visiting Rangers (6-5) and into the state playoffs.

Tristan Rosman completed 7 of 10 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns for Wilbur-Creston (10-1).

Joey Rosman hauled in the first two touchdowns, from 83 and 13 yards, as the Wildcats raced to a 40-6 first-quarter lead.

Copeland added a 90-yard touchdown reception.

Wilbur-Creston plays Touchet next week in a quarterfinal.

Colton 70, Entiat 8: Jake Straughan ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more to lead the Wildcats.

Straughan scored on runs of 40, 52 and 1 yard. He threw a 35-yard TD pass to Casey Jackson and 29 yards to Grant Kinzer.

Colton led 48-0 at halftime and had 70 points before Entiat scored on a 73-yard pass from Alberto Quezada to Truong Tran.
