Fairfield City Council – An Arbor Day tree-planting ceremony is planned for Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. in Hart Park. The council discussed a yard waste day, but there is no grant funding available this year. A representative from SCOPE requested assistance with paying the rent for the group’s office in Fairfield. The council voted against changing the speed limits in town. A recent volunteer effort cleaned up a vacant lot, made improvements to Levi’s Room in the Community Center and reroofed the gazebo in Thiel Park.
