Obituary: Woldson, Myrtle

Age 104

WOLDSON, Myrtle 1910 - 2014 Miss Myrtle Woldson passed away peacefully at her home in Spokane, WA on April 11, 2014 at the age of 104.

Her passing is a sad event for all those who loved and respected her over the years.

She died as she lived with dignity and in privacy.

Miss Woldson was born to Martin and Edwidge Woldson on March 26, 1910 in Spokane.

She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Woldson, her mother, Edwidge Woldson, and her sister, Frances Howser.

Miss Woldson is survived by her nephews, Martin Howser and Kenneth Howser of Spokane and their families, her cousins, Camille Link of Palm Desert, CA and Mary Kay Bakken of Batavia, IL.

She is also survived by her extended family, Mark Danner, devoted friend and personal friend, Spokane Mayor David Condon.

She was an accomplished business woman, philanthropist and musician.

She loved beautiful gardens, French antiques, classical music, art, and architecture.

She truly epitomized Spokane’s great “Age of Elegance.”

In honor of her parents, Miss Woldson made significant contributions to the restoration of The Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox and the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Church on the campus of Gonzaga University.

A private interment will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home of Spokane.
