Born August 14, 1940 in the small town of Nespelem, WA, Carol enjoyed a colorful upbringing with three older siblings in a close-knit community where everyone was family.
In her 20’s she discovered Alaska and there she carved out a fulfilling life in the final frontier and lifelong friendships that became her Alaskan family.
She had a long and successful career at the IRS and was a world traveler and active in her community.
“In the days preceding her death, Carol was surrounded by the love of family and friends.
She touched many lives in her 73 years and will be sorely missed.
In her life, she stayed deeply involved with her family and in particular the lives of her many nieces and nephews.
Known as the “fun aunt”, Carol was the architect of many late nights and adventures with the kids, creating moments that they will always cherish.
She will also be remembered as a great friend and neighbor.
Her smile, wit and laughter made her easy to love”, quoted her family.
Carol will be remembered with great love by her siblings; Mary Snyder of Menifee, CA, Bill Gray of Walla Walla, WA, and John Gray of Gig Harbor, WA; as well as her dozens of nieces, nephews and their children.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Anchorage Concert Association, http://www.anchorageconcerts.org/ or Anchorage Catholic Social Services, http://www.cssalaska.org/ Arrangements were cared for by the Anchorage Funeral Home & Crematory.
