Sounders host Dynamo

Heading into the Fourth of July weekend, the Seattle Sounders had a 10-point lead in the hunt for its first Supporter’s Shield. It had the inside track for home-field advantage in the MLS playoffs, and reinforcements were on their way with World Cup stars Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin set to return. The Sounders have lost three of their four MLS matches since, including their last two heading into tonight’s home match against Houston (7:30 p.m., ESPN2). “I think we got a little too comfortable in our positions and the way we were playing,” forward Chad Barrett said Thursday. “But two losses will wake anybody up.” – Seattle Times
