Obituary: Short, Stanley A. Jr.

SHORT, Stanley A., Jr.

Passed away September 21, 2014 in Spokane.

He is survived by his wife, Sally of Spokane; children Danielle of Spokane and Chris of Salem, Oregon; brother Daniel of Spokane; nephews David Short and Jeff Short; aunt Lois King of Spokane; numerous cousins and his beloved grandson Caleb.

Born March 27, 1945 in Spokane to Stan Sr. and Betty Short, Stan Jr. graduated from West Valley High School, then from the University of Washington.

After serving in the Army, he earned his MBA from the University of Utah, and eventually settled once again in Spokane.

He was best known in the professional community as a practicing CPA for over 30 years, during which time he built his own practice.

Stan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and fishing at Lake Pend Oreille, where he and Sally owned a cabin for nearly 40 years.

Stan and Sally were loyal Gonzaga Basketball fans, and spent many winter evenings watching the Zags on television.

He is best remembered as a very kind and generous man who was a dutiful and supportive husband, father, and friend.

A memorial service will be held December 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Salvation Army Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Spokane.
