Obituary: Moreland, Raymond E.

Age 77

MORELAND, Raymond E. (Age 77) Of Newport, Washington passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 16, 2014.

Ray was born May 8, 1937 in Spokane and grew up in the Spokane area attending school at Franklin and Glenrose Elementary later graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in 1954.

Ray built the family home in Newport, WA.

where he started an electrical/appliance business.

Ray lived a full life farming the family property.

Ray also had an overwhelming passion for vintage cars, westerns, and anything John Wayne.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Harold Moreland and his sister Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce, his children, Kelly and Brad, his three grandsons, his sister Pat Dietz and brother, Gene Moreland, plus numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a viewing held Friday, December 19 from 1-5 PM at Sherman Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, WA.

A memorial service will be held in Ray’s honor on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11A.M.

at the Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division St. in Spokane with a reception to follow hosted by the Dietz family, at S. 607 Russel Rd., HWY 2, in Spokane.
