University sends 10 to semifinals at subregional

University placed 10 wrestlers in the semifinals Friday and is in first place after the first day of the 3A subregional meet in Hanford.

At 106 pounds, Titans freshman Clai Quintanilla won both of his early-round matches and will face off against teammate Cam Swanson in today’s semifinals.

Mt. Spokane is in second place, followed by Sunnyside, North Central, Shadle Park and Southridge.

Mt. Spokane had two wrestlers – Alec Hoover and Andrew Hoover – reach the semifinals at 120 pounds.

North Central and Shadle Park had six wrestlers apiece reach the semifinals.

• East Valley is in first after the first day of the District 7 2A meet at East Valley.
